Scout Mayatex New Zealand Wool Saddle Blanket 34x40

The Scout Mayatex Saddle Blanket is a 34-by-40-inch hand-woven blanket made from 100% New Zealand wool, designed to cushion and protect your horse under the saddle while adding visual presence in the ring. The heavy-weight construction provides reliable shock absorption during work, while a black leather wear patch on the underside shields the wool from friction caused by latigo and off-billet straps—addressing the durability concern that makes most wool blankets impractical for daily use.

New Zealand wool's natural fiber properties manage moisture effectively and resist packing down, so the blanket maintains its cushioning after repeated rides. The Scout features a Navajo-inspired geometric pattern woven in black, charcoal, ash, starlight, soft turquoise, and ocean blue—a specific color combination that reads distinctly in the arena without relying on bright metallics or contrasting trim.

Because the blanket is hand-woven rather than machine-made, the pattern varies slightly across the piece, giving it an artisanal appearance that signals intentional tack selection. The dimensions fit comfortably under most Western saddles and suit riders in pleasure, reining, cowhorse, cutting, and ranch disciplines where classic saddle blankets remain standard equipment. This product is built to handle regular use while maintaining the wool integrity and pattern clarity expected in a working show blanket.
