This 36" x 34" saddle blanket combines 100% New Zealand wool with a poly core for a heavyweight weave that resists shifting and curling under the saddle. The flat hem construction prevents edges from rolling, keeping the blanket smooth and secure whether you're using a skirted or trail saddle.
New Zealand wool naturally wicks moisture and regulates temperature, helping your horse stay dry during extended rides in variable conditions. The poly core reinforces the weave for durability without sacrificing the breathability that wool provides—unlike synthetic alternatives that trap heat and sweat.
The blanket's Southwestern geometric pattern features bold colors—deep blues, golds, browns, and creams—woven throughout the light sage base. The pattern is structural, not printed, so it won't fade or wear away with repeated washing and use. This makes it suitable for both everyday trail work and the show ring.
At 36" x 34", this blanket is sized for standard Western saddles and fits comfortably under typical skirted or trail designs without bunching or excess fabric hanging below the saddle skirts. The weight and construction mean it stays in position during mounting and movement, reducing the need for constant adjustment.
Mayatex has manufactured saddle blankets and Western gear since 1944, maintaining production standards across their wool and poly-blend lines. This blanket represents the traditional saddle pad construction—dense, uncomplicated, and built to tolerate regular use on working horses and in competitive settings.
